There are many types of genre:

Action, they usually include many actions happening at the same time. For example: battles, escapes, destructive crises like floods, explotions or fires.

Adventure, are usually about interesting stories with a introduction, a disaster and the end that most of them have a happy ending.They can include tradicional swashbucklers, serialized films, and also historical spectacles.

Maybe they can be looking for something in the whole movie, they can be in the desset, jungle...

Comedy, this movies consist in make the audience laugh and have a nice time with your movie, what this type of movies do is to exaggerate all situations, the language, the action, the relationships and the character. They try to describe situations or try imitate something in a funny way.

Drama, dramas are serious, realistic characters, settings, life, situations, and stories involving an exaggeration of situations. Dramatic films are probably the largest film genre, because it involve many subjects.

Horror, this type of movies re designed to scare the audience and to feel you vulnerable. Most of these movies are filmed in forest in the night, terrifying, shocking finale...In this genre you can find scenes with silent an in one point they scared you.

Musical/Dance, films are about music and dancing, most of these movies include dance performance integrate as part of the film narrative. Or they are centred on combinations of music, dance, song or a mixture of all of them.

Science fiction, most of these movies are based in this that are impossible to happen in real life. And all of this is incomplete without heroes, aliens, distant planets, fantastic places...

War, they are horror and heartbreak of war, letting the actual combat fighting. War films are often mix with other genres, like action, adventure, drama, romance, comedy, suspense.

Crime, are around sinister actions of criminal and bad influences. Most of this movie move in the atmosphere of murdering, stealing and bank robbers...criminal and gangster films are often categorized as as film noir/ detective-mystery films.
